'He's grown up now' - Korker continues cracking form with feature sprint success
Korker continued his fine resurgence in form when storming to success in the feature 5f handicap.
The Karl Burke-trained four-year-old was runner-up in the Listed Rous Stakes this month, but made it two wins from his last three starts with a two-and-a-half-length victory under Clifford Lee.
Lee said: "He was very good and he especially jumped the gates nicely. He was very relaxed at the start and he picked them off. He bumped into a horse rated 111 at Ascot [Emaraaty Ana] and wasn't far behind him.
"His last three runs have been very good and he's been frustrating at the gates before, but he's really come on. He's grown up now."
The son of Dandy Man has run ten times during a busy campaign and is entered at Doncaster on Saturday, but might have earned himself a deserved rest.
Lee added: "He's got a bit of a confidence booster now and after speaking to the boss that might be it for the year, so he'd be ending it on a high."
Jarvis joy
The retiring William Jarvis ended a 34-day wait for a winner with Hakuna Babe's victory in the 1m2f handicap.
The Emma Banks-owned three-year-old got off the mark at the ninth attempt for Jarvis, who will finish his training career at the end of the Flat season.
Gamble landed
Fitzrovia, who was backed into 4-1 having been as big as 10-1 on Monday, landed a gamble impressively in the second division of the mile handicap.
