'He'll leave his rating well behind' - Seamie Heffernan hails easy winner
Seamie Heffernan believes there could be plenty more to come from ready nursery winner Anchorage, who stamped his class on proceedings with a tidy weight-carrying performance.
Off a mark of 88 and giving at least a stone to all rivals when factoring in riders' claims, the Galileo colt had previously met several smart types in maidens.
Sent off the 11-10 favourite, he was able to open his account at the fifth attempt for Aidan O'Brien and the Coolmore partners by a comfortable four lengths.
"He had been running in very competitive races," Heffernan told Racing TV. "I think he'll leave his rating well behind when he's fully mature. I was very happy with him."
O'Brien lands 27-1 treble
Joseph O'Brien may be set to relinquish his riding record for the most number of winners in an Irish Flat season – with Colin Keane one off the former champion jockey's tally of 126 – but the leading trainer continued his march towards a first domestic seasonal century with a 27-1 treble.
Capable fillies Voice Of Angels (8-15 favourite), ridden by Shane Crosse, and Adelisa (5-4 favourite), partnered by Mikey Sheehy, secured the opening two legs of the treble with deserved maiden victories.
Rekero (7-1) produced a strong finishing effort under Declan McDonogh in the concluding 2m maiden to bring O'Brien to 97 winners for the season.
The consistent three-year-old upset favourite Jesse Evans, ridden by Colin Keane, who was out of luck on his four rides.
