Heffernan in the winner's enclosure again on Browning
Aidan O'Brien second-string Elizabeth Browning capped off a great two days for Seamie Heffernan at the Curragh by coming with a withering run to win the Group 2 Kilboy Estate Stakes.
Rated only 92 and winner of just one of her 15 starts coming into the contest – a fillies' nursery handicap back in October 2016 – Elizabeth Browning looked to have been making up the numbers, but she displayed a lovely turn of foot to win the contest by a length and three-quarters.
O’Brien said: "We always thought that she had a lot of ability and she missed a lot of time. She is starting to get it together and her last few runs had been good.
"It just goes to show you, she’s a Galileo filly at the end of the day.
"It's a lovely race to win and I think Seamie gave her a fantastic ride. It’s just a great race for fillies at this time of the year as it fits in perfect.
"She liked the quick ground and I think she will stay a bit further. She came home very well."
How the race was won
Well-supported 7-4 favourite Turret Rocks led for the majority of the contest before coming under pressure two furlongs out when joined by the winner's stable companion – and more fancied runner – Pocketfullofdreams.
However, the race was run to favour those coming from off the pace and both English raider Wilamina and second favourite Laganore looked to be making menacing moves before they were run down by Elizabeth Browning.
