The population of Cresselly, according to those who live there, is in the region of 80. So when a coach left the backwater of West Wales with 57 residents aboard on Thursday morning, you can imagine productivity in that region of Pembrokeshire was breaking no records.

Departure time for the Cheltenham-bound coach was 6am, with the good folk of Cresselly prepared for a day in a million thanks to their Pertemps Final hope Tobefair.

Not all 57 on board officially own the horse but, in Cresselly, Tobefair is the people’s horse, and the 17-strong syndicate, along with family, friends and neighbours, are out in force to see if the seven-year-old can make it eight wins from his last eight runs at jump racing’s dream factory.
