Happy days for De Sousa as Power impresses with easy Ganton win
Champion jockey Silvestre de Sousa's retainer with King Power Racing could hardly have got off to a better start this season and the Andrew Balding-trained Happy Power reiterated that point with victory in the Listed Ganton Stakes at York.
Available at 5-2 on Thursday evening, Happy Power was supported into 6-5 and his backers were left with little to worry about in the 1m contest.
Wadilsafa set the pace under Dane O'Neill but De Sousa always had him in his sights and easily went past to win by a cosy length and a quarter.
