Grey Britain takes the step up in his stride to land feature contest

Grey Britain handled the marked step up in trip to two miles as he saw off last year's winner Watersmeet in the feature conditions stakes.

The John Ryan-trained five-year-old won over a mile and a half last time out at Wolverhampton and on Friday got the better of three rivals under a masterful ride from Adam Kirby.

A 50-1 winner of a Class 2 handicap at Newmarket on 1,000 Guineas day last May, Grey Britain has been a fine representative for Ryan and looks a decent stayer in the making.
