The lights went off when Greatest Journey was last in action, but there were no problems with illumination at Dunstall Park as the six-year-old took the feature 1m1½f handicap.

Greatest Journey was one of the runners involved in the race that was voided at Chelmsford when there was a power cut during the heat of battle, but the six-year-old delivered a first win since joining Mick Appleby when coming clear by a length and a quarter under Alistair Rawlinson.

Owned by The Hobbits, Greatest Journey was formerly with Godolphin, but was picked up by Appleby last November for only £3,000.
