Granny shows no signs of slowing down as she extends winning spree

It was a mixed day for Kanturk trainer Mick Winters. After being hammered with a €6,000 fine after the stewards found that Churchtown Glen had not been allowed to run on its merits in the opening maiden hurdle, there was a much happier vibe after the feature 2m4f handicap hurdle.

That's because the Tom McNulty-owned Granny Biddy made it five wins from her last six starts with a decisive victory under Donie McInerney.

It is quite remarkable how this mare has continued to defy the handicapper, having begun her winning sequence off 87 at Tramore in August and winning this race off 124.
