It is the time of year when springtime dreams are hatched from autumn success, but while most work back from Cheltenham in March, connections of Antony have the biggest handicap of them all in mind.

Winning rider Jamie Moore had sown a Grand National seed long before Saturday's success but after the six-year-old put a pair of Grade 1 winners to the sword on his first try over three miles, even the rider's father, Gary - a trainer not renowned for getting carried away - could not help but mention the most famous race of them all.

"Jamie's been telling me, 'This is my Grand National horse'," revealed the winning trainer.
