When asked about future plans for George Cornelius following his explosive winning debut in the opening 5f maiden, trainer Kieran Cotter replied: "My plan is to try and hold on to him."

Holding on to him will not be easy, however. The son of Bungle Inthejungle cost just €29,000 last October, so if substantial six-figure offers are forthcoming it will be hard for connections to turn them down. There is a healthy profit waiting for them if they so wish as you would imagine Cotter's phone will be hopping after the ten-length hammering.

Mark Gallagher couldn't pull him up afterwards either and he was eventually unshipped, suggesting there was loads left in the tank. It is only April but Royal Ascot must be on the agenda.
