Gordon Elliott's strike-rate at Downpatrick had been well-established long before the popular northern venue staged its first meeting of the year on Sunday, and an outstanding 92-1 treble for the trainer not only enhanced that but made it very probable a double century of winners for the season will be achieved before Easter is out.

That's almost a full month before the end of the season, which is mind-boggling considering it has never been achieved before.

Elliott went into the feature Toals Bookmakers Ulster National having already equalled his best ever score for the season of 193, achieved last year, and he was probably unlucky not to saddle the first and second in Downpatrick's signature contest of the year.
