Gordon and Balding team up for first winner with fast-finishing Sea Sculpture

Josephine Gordon and Andrew Balding may have started a fruitful partnership after Gordon enjoyed a brilliant, but unlikely, victory with Sea Sculpture, her first success for the trainer.

The three-year-old was 6-1 second favourite but appeared to be struggling in the early part of the race, with Gordon forced to push him along as he trailed the field by a few lengths on the turn for home.

As 2-5 favourite Mokammal failed to kick on, the Kingsclere Racing Club-owned runner made rapid progress up the straight, scorching from last to first to claim a half-length success over Risaala.
