Globetrotter Eddystone Rock bounces back with first victory since 2017

Eddystone Rock got his nose in front for the first time since winning at the 2017 Ebor meeting when beating Mandalayan in a competitive 1m4f handicap.

The seven-year-old, who has competed at St Moritz and Dortmund, was winless in 21 starts but had been ambitiously campaigned by trainer John Best, with engagements in the Cambridgeshire and the November Handicap at Naas last autumn.

Eddystone Rock’s last five starts had been on the all-weather and Best believed the switch back to grass paid dividends as he stayed on well under Adam Kirby.
