There was a sense of the jumps season starting in earnest at Punchestown's opening fixture of the season and that was aided by Gigginstown House Stud unleashing some exciting big guns.

The first to strike for the high-profile owners was Notebook in the 2m beginners' chase for Henry de Bromhead, producing a fine exhibition of jumping under Rachael Blackmore.

He attacked his fences with relish and comfortably saw off the challenge of Eclair De Beaufeu, also carrying the Gigginstown silks, by two and three-quarter lengths.
