Gethings shines when doubling up aboard Katy P and Calin Du Brizais
Conditional jockey Ciaran Gethings got the tactics from the saddle spot on in the first two races on the card, doubling up with Katy P in the 2m 51/2f mares' novice hurdle and Calin Du Brizais, who took the 3m2f novice handicap chase.
But it was the rider's late show aboard Calin Du Brizais that would have frustrated the in-running players at the course as he produced Nigel Hawke's charge with a dash down the outside to deny Braqueur D'Or.
On Betfair Braqueur D'Or, who looked to have the race in the bag at the final fence, plummeted to 1.01, which was matched to £8,724, while the winner hit a high of 90, which found friends to tune of £16.
