Paul Nicholls will look to utilise the skills and handy 7lb allowance of Angus Cheleda after the amateur jockey advertised his talents when landing the feature on outsider Calva D'Auge.

The Owners Group five-year-old finished last of six when sent up to Ayr last time, but enjoyed being campaigned closer to home as the topweight struck at odds of 14-1 in the 2m3f handicap hurdle.

The success takes Nicholls to 76 winners for the season and was a seventh victory under rules for Cheleda, who looks likely to get plenty more opportunities from the 11-time champion trainer.
