You didn’t have to wait long to witness the best performance on this card as the lightly raced Nimr looked classy when landing the opening 7f handicap, also the fixture’s best race.

Owned by Al Shaqab Racing and trained by Richard Fahey, Nimr’s cosy win prompted William Hill to shave his odds to 25-1 (from 33) for the Betway Lincoln and perhaps the Lincoln Trial at this track on March 11 could be a viable target before then.
