Furtado has L'Express in mind as Equilibrium blazes to victory

There is no greater test of speed than five furlongs around Chester –that is unless you go abroad.

After watching on as Normal Equilibrium blasted home in the 5f handicap, trainer Ivan Furtado was left to contemplate crossing the Channel for an even faster assignment, with his thoughts switching to the appropriately named 'L'Express' over 800m at Maisons-Laffitte next month.

"His owners [John and Albert Marriott] have horses in France with Andrew Hollinshead and asked him to find a race over four furlongs as he's very fast," said the trainer.
