Harry Fry has a big-race runner at Galway on Saturday and he will head there in a confident mood after Last Of A Legend's success in the 2m3½f maiden hurdle continued a fantastic recent run of form for the stable.

Jonathan Burke made stealthy headway on the five-year-old and after quickening to lead over the second-last, the five-year-old showed a willing attitude to score by a length, making it five winners from Fry's last seven runners.

"We're delighted after hitting the crossbar with her," said Fry. "Having trained her dam [Blue Buttons] to win races and now her offspring, I'm so pleased.

"There's also the added bonus of winning the full £20,000 GBB bonus, which is great."

Fry's winter runners have returned to his Corscombe base and there is an air of excitement building, especially with Boothill representing the stable at Galway on Saturday.

"It's a very exciting time of year," added Fry. "There's lots to look forward to and the few horses we do have running at this time of year have been going well, which is an added bonus. Hopefully Boothill can be competitive and be in the money. With a bit of luck he may go close."

Deadly duo

Donald McCain and Brian Hughes once again teamed up to good effect for a double, with Finisk River winning the 2m3½f handicap hurdle and Geromino landing the 2m4½f novice chase.
