Frankie: it was without doubt the most nervous I have ever been before an Arc

Frankie Dettori on his sixth Arc triumph aboard now-dual winner Enable

This was my 30th time riding in the Arc and it was without doubt the most nervous I've ever been. It was one hell of a long morning, let me tell you. I was very excited.

Things went according to plan early. I knew the O'Brien runners would go an end-to-end gallop to suit their stayers and that's what they did. I found myself in a fantastic spot.

The first part of the race she was only okay. She wasn't carting me along like she sometimes can. Then, along the false straight, the life in the old girl came back. The leaders came back to us and I knew then we were in business.

I waited as long as I could and, at the 300-metre marker [furlong and a half out], she showed her trademark turn of foot. The rail at Longchamp on good ground is a big help and we got it after we hit the front.

I had a glance at the 300-metre mark and I'm three lengths clear. I said to myself, 'I've won this'. I put my whip down and tried to get one last drop of energy to get her head down at the line.

In the last 50 yards we were on our hands and knees. I was trying to squeeze everything I could out of her and we got there.

John Gosden...what a genius this man is. He's won the Arc with a filly who hadn't run in 11 months. Amazing.

Same time, same place next year everyone!
