This had not been a great week for Newmarket trainer Marco Botti but a festival in which he hoped to run now former stable star Euro Charline ended on a positive note thanks to another stalwart of his yard, Golden Steps.

Grade 1 winner Euro Charline had been declared for the Falmouth Stakes on Friday but her participation and racing career were both abandoned after she suffered a tendon injury that prompted her immediate retirement.
