There was a procession by the Royal British Legion before racing and there was another one up the July course at 2.40pm when Majoris made all by seven lengths in the 7f nursery.

Just hours after a Frankel colt had been beaten at the track on Friday night, normal service was resumed for the former Sir Henry Cecil-trained superstar when his son made a mockery at his rating of 76.

Indeed, there was something of Frankel himself in the frontrunning style of the win, which was never in doubt after Jim Crowley had taken the hood off Majoris prior to the stalls opening.
