Grand National-winning pilot Derek Fox was back in Ireland and marked the occasion by riding a winner for fellow county man Mark McNiff at Ballinrobe.

Fox rousted a late effort from McNiff’s Andratx, who completed back-to-back handicap wins when he passed the post in front in the 2m1f handicap hurdle.

The Sligo trainer said: “He did it alright and they went hard in front and he kept at it well. He jumps very well, he is a straightforward horse and it's grand that he won again.
