Former Irish champion apprentice Connor King aiming to build on double

Connor King, a two-time champion Flat apprentice in Ireland, rode his second double since switching codes and countries – and hopes the feat will provide the springboard to more success.

King, 22, is based in Malton and rides out for John Quinn and Tim Easterby. He partnered a winner apiece for those trainers on Je Suis Charlie in the novice hurdle and Travel Lightly in the juvenile hurdle.

After failing to get off the mark last season, he now has seven victories over jumps to add to the 126 he gained on the Flat.
