Footpad, who competed at the highest level over hurdles, is going to make a bigger impact as a chaser judged on his impressive 11-length victory on his debut over fences in the 2m1f beginners chase.

The five-year-old, who won two Grade 1 hurdles, was giving Willie Mullins his fifth consecutive win in the race following Ballycasey (2013), Vautour (2014), Douvan (2015) and Min a year ago.

Mullins was quick to praise Footpad, saying that he was a "natural jumper of fences," and that his schooling at home has been as good as any novice chaser he has trained.
