Flying Greatrex rides out claim with double for Watson

Apprentice jockey Eddy Greatrex will forever remember his first visit to the Scottish track as he rode out his claim with a double for boss Archie Watson.

Greatrex, who flew up by plane to Edinburgh from Heathrow, had already been enjoying a memorable month with 13 victories, including the £75,000 sprint series finale at Windsor, before the start of play and he will savour reaching a landmark 95th success.

Son of Lambourn jumps trainer Warren, the 19-year-old has joined forces with second-season trainer Watson, 28, to excellent effect and the pair combined again with Masarzain in the mile handicap and Alnasl in the 1m1f handicap.
