First two home in Oaks look like they can continue progressing

An open Investec Oaks saw the rallying Anapurna run out a game winner, but in terms of form her performance rates at the bottom end of Oaks expectations with a Racing Post Rating of 114.

With less than five lengths covering the first six home the relatively compressed finishing positions results in a rating that falls below the expected standard, although figures for the placed horses are right up to scratch.

In a race in which the field had yet to show Oaks-standard form Anapurna took another significant step forward, improving by 9lb on her Lingfield trial form and with rapidly progressive figures there's surely more to come.
