Sales shopping can be a fraught experience, full of disappointment, frustration and sore feet. Yet for the quick-witted, hard-working bargain hunter there are tremendous deals to be found – and Alan King believes he may have found one, without having had to go anywhere near Bluewater.

To the normal person, £89,250 might seem like a lot to spend on a shopping trip, but impressive Redcar handicap winners do not come cheap.

Redicean's price certainly went up when he won at the Teeside track for David O'Meara one day before entering the Tattersalls sales ring. King was surprised that price did not go up more.
