Charlie Fellowes managed fifth in the Marathon on All-Weather Finals day in April, but is hoping to better that at Lingfield in 2018 with Captain Navarre, who justified favouritism in the 2m½f handicap.

The five-year-old has been called some names in the past but none of them by his trainer, who just thinks he saves a bit for himself.

The 13-8 favourite was backing up his recent return to form at Kempton, a revival partially attributed to the fitting of a visor.
