Fahy to bid for Grade 1 Punchestown glory with Castlegrace Paddy

The best horse Pat Fahy has trained for Steve Parkin and Clipper Logistics, Morning Assembly, was retired earlier in the week, so what a time for Flemensfirth gelding Castlegrace Paddy to pop up and prove an ideal replacement.

In the hands of Andrew Lynch, he dominated the feature Listed novice chase named in memory of the track's late owner Pierce Molony and convincingly defeated a pretty select field after a fine round of jumping.

His trainer is keen to pitch him into the Grade 1 2m champion novice chase at the Punchestown festival, won last year by the winner of this race Great Field, and perhaps emulate Morning Assembly, who won a Grade 1 novice hurdle at the festival in 2013.
