Fabulous Saga sluices up on a day where Cork was lucky to go ahead

On a day where Cork had to abandon their last two races due to safety concerns after some unrelenting weather, Fabulous Saga would have been left wondering what all the fuss was about as he revelled in the mud and posted an amazing 70-length victory in the Kerry Group Stayers Hurdle.

The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old, who likes to get on with things out in front, was so far clear approaching the winning line that Danny Mullins was able to ease his mount to a walk.

Speaking after the emphatic success, Mullins said: “It's a big advantage riding for Willie as they're fit and keep galloping.”
