Dropping Fabricate back to 1m2f has proved a masterstroke, as the five-year-old remained unbeaten at the trip with a smooth success in the Listed Better Odds With Matchbook Magnolia Stakes.

The Queen's runner was awarded a Goodwood handicap before winning the Group 3 Winter Hill Stakes at Windsor last season over the trip, and made it three from three at the distance with a two-and-a-quarter length victory under Andrea Atzeni.

Some nice summer targets could now await, as John Warren, racing manager to The Queen, said: "Michael Bell [trainer] is earmarking the Brigadier Gerard which seems the next logical step.
