As the Chepstow winner's enclosure became packed in the aftermath of the Coral Welsh Grand National, there were fewer more popular people than Elegant Escape's rider Tom O'Brien.

Patience is key, especially in the rollercoaster world of a jump jockey, and this season everything seems to be falling right for O'Brien, who is enjoying one of his best campaigns.

Long, and often unsuccessful, drives to northern tracks and being the second-choice rider at bigger yards may be something of the past for O'Brien, who was congratulated from all sides by various connections of his Welsh Grand National rivals.
