Evan Williams records 1,000th career success as Annsam dots up at Catterick
It was a memorable day for Evan Williams as he recorded his 1,000th career winner at Catterick as Annsam won the 2m3½f racingtv.com/freetrial Handicap Hurdle under Adam Wedge.
The Welsh trainer was not made aware of his landmark success until he was on the journey home from the sales on Wednesday, admitting he had not been keeping track of his career wins.
Williams said: “I'm genuinely chuffed! I was on the way home from the sales and stopped for some diesel and a cup of tea and the kids told me. It would be no use in me keeping track because I’m useless!
