Eva only winner for Vaughan as multiple gamble fails to materialise

An easy win for Oskar's Eva in the first 2m4f handicap hurdle looked the prelude for another bad day for bookmakers for she was one of four horses from the Tim Vaughan stable who had been supported in multiple bets prior to racing.

Although it wasn't quite on the same scale as legendary gambler Barney Curley's £1m coup it was enough for layers to slash the prices of the four concerned.

Vaughan, whose horses have been in fine form in the past few weeks, knew nothing of the gamble saying: "I haven't been part of it, I don't know who was behind it but perhaps people are jumping on the bandwagon as my horses are running well."
