It was back to basics and winning ways for the talented Equilateral as a drop in grade and trip and a change in tactics brought victory in the 5f conditions stakes.

A return to front-running paid dividends with Ryan Moore making all aboard Khalid Abdullah's colt, defeating Sarshampla by three and three-quarter lengths in the three-runner contest.

The well-regarded sprinter had become a head-scratcher for Charlie Hills after finding little for pressure in the Commonwealth Cup and Hackwood Stakes, but the trainer firmly believes Equilateral has star potential.
