Enable fan takes 6,000 mile day-trip from Tokyo to see star filly's return

They came from far and wide to see Enable. To underline the appreciation racing fans have for the wonder filly, one gentleman made a day trip from Tokyo, 6,000 miles away, while others simply braved the 235 bus from Feltham.

Hiruyuki Kojima's impressive English did not extend to answering questions regarding whether his journey was interrupted by the RMT union's train strike, but he could talk about his favourite thoroughbred, whose pulling power drew him from Japan to this offshoot of Sunbury-on-Thames. For a Tokyo-based turf addict, the final of the London Mile series was an added bonus.

"I arrived this morning and leave tonight," said computer engineer Hiruyuki.
