Enable below best for second Arc triumph after tightest finish for 20 years

Enable ran below her best but was still good enough to etch her name in history with a second victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

John Gosden said we had not seen her at her peak and the figures concur, as she earned a Racing Post Rating of 122 for her second Arc success – 7lb below the mark she received last year.

She had an interrupted preparation this time round, which became evident in the final 100 yards at Longchamp, where she quickly went from three lengths up and powering away from the third and fourth to fading and just doing enough to hold on.
