Elliott the dominant force with four winners on the board

Gordon Elliott was the dominant force with four winners, the first to enter the winner's enclosure being Sutton Manor in the opening beginners’ chase.

Ridden by Jamie Codd, Sutton Manor made his burst for home at the top of the hill and did just enough to hold off the challenge of fellow Gigginstown-owned Burgas, trained by Noel Meade.

Next it was Minellafordollars and Donie McInerney who got in on the act for the stable in the 2m3f maiden hurdle, before Stooshie hung on to claim a deserved first success over hurdles in the following 2m maiden hurdle under Codd.
