Jane Elliott wrapped up the All-Weather Hands and Heels series in style, winning the final leg and with it securing the first double of her promising career.

Having already won the 6f maiden on the well-supported Daring Guest for boss George Margarson, Elliott was out to make the most of a first ride for Mark Johnston in the 2m apprentice handicap that marked the culmination of the eight-race series, and she produced the goods with a polished ride on Tartan Bute to deny fast-finishing favourite Lost The Moon.

A beaming Elliott said: “It’s fantastic – not only to get a winner for Mark Johnston but to ride a double and get the series in the bag is brilliant. That was my big goal for the winter and hopefully I can keep it going.”
