He might blend into the crowd at home but there is no mistaking how talented the Theclockisticking is on the track and he followed up a 32-length success on his debut over hurdles at Fakenham with a ten-length romp in the 2m novice hurdle.

Trainer Stuart Edmunds may have found it hard to quantify his Fakenham win but there was substance to go with the style this time with the highly touted Cause Toujours, who was sent off favourite for the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham in March, well beaten in second.

Paddy Power thought it was worthy of a 66-1 quote for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and, while Edmunds is not shooting quite that high yet, Theclockisticking will creep up in class now.
