Eddery targets Commonwealth Cup with speedy Equimou

Equimou is Royal Ascot-bound after her win in the feature race at Hamilton Park, a class 2 conditions sprint landed three years ago by Mecca's Angel.

The even-money favourite Dream Of Dreams was slowly away and didn't seem to handle the undulating track before staying on to finish three-quarters of a length behind the speedy Phillip Makin-ridden winner.

After unsaddling his first-ever runner at the Lanarkshire venue, Newmarket trainer Robert Eddery said: "She has an entry in the Commonwealth Cup and her owners Mr and Mrs Phillips are keen to go.
