Easy winner Piedita the type to complete a hat-trick

Ground that was considerably softer than had been anticipated proved no bar to success for odds-on Piedita in the 2m handicap, and having won by a wide margin there is every chance we shall see more of her before she is reassessed by the handicapper.

Sir Mark Prescott has already given last month's Beverley winner entries at both Salisbury and Goodwood on Friday, and she has until a week on Friday to carry a penalty.

It was a weakish race, and Piedita enjoyed a significant weight-for-age allowance, but she was the paddock stand-out and was value for more than the four-and-a-half-length margin.
