Backing the best horse in the race is never a bad policy and sometimes it can pay huge dividends.
Dylan Mouth and Soldier In Action were officially rated the best horses in the bet365 Old Newton Cup, as the joint top-weights of 9st 10lb raced off BHA marks of 104.
The pair were conceding between 1lb and 15lb in the ultra-competitive field to be expected for a £100,000 handicap, yet the weight could not stop them dominating the finish.
