Drinks on Philip Kirby after fabulous treble capped by Buttons

Yorkshire's most prestigious meeting of the jumps season turned into a day of celebration for local trainer Philip Kirby, who is set to continue the partying into the evening after completing a treble in the chief supporting hurdle contests on the Charlie Hall Chase card.

Lady Buttons went one place better than last year as she scored her ninth career victory under Adam Nicol in the OLBG.com Mares' Hurdle, taking her earnings to just short of £80,000.

"She's a star," said Kirby. "She's been brilliant for me and taken us to all the big races. She's probably a better chaser than she is a hurdler but she just needs a good gallop and the better the race, the better she is.
