Doyle in pole position for top jockey gong after 2,024-1 treble

James Doyle tops the table for Racing UK’s leading Goodwood jockey award following a 2,024-1 treble headed by Yalta’s stunning win in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes.

Having also scored on Best Solution on Tuesday, Doyle is on four for the meeting, and with today’s odds-on Richmond Stakes favourite Blue Point to look forward to among 12 booked rides in the next two days alone, he is well placed to win the prize for the first time.

Doyle, who before rushing on to Sandown agreed that it had been ”a great day”, added he had “some very good rides”, followed Yalta’s success with wins on Sagaciously in the fillies’ handicap and Shady McCoy in the 7f handicap.
