The Tourard Man travelled powerfully to land the feature 2m7f handicap hurdle and hand 10lb claimer Kevin Dowling a fourth career win, all aboard this horse.

Off a mark of 145, the veteran 11-year-old was well on top at the finish as he defeated the rallying Sandymount by a length and a quarter at odds of 8-1.

Volnay De Thaix led until The Tourard Man took over but could manage only third, while Oscarteea faded out of the picture alarmingly having been on the scene for some way.
