Double keeps Coleman in the hunt for first jockeys' title

BOOKMAKERS might make it a two-horse race but Aidan Coleman is clinging to the coat tails of Sam Twiston-Davies and Richard Johnson through the early skirmishes of the Stobart jump jockeys' championship and made ground on his rivals yesterday with a double.

Coleman is a general 14-1 shot for a first title and although losing the backing of the now defunct John Ferguson yard, is only ten winners behind leader Twiston-Davies and just four behind reigning champ Johnson after taking his tally to 30.

"When John Ferguson announced his retirement it was about seeing where I was but so far so good and I'm very happy with it," said Coleman, who finished runner-up last year with 130 winners.
