Karl Burke will head to Royal Ascot later in the week in high spirits after registering a double at the North Yorkshire track's belated first fixture of the season.

The Leyburn trainer, who has been among the winners since racing's resumption, had two runners on the ten-race card and they both won. Angel Of The Glen made a successful debut before stablemate Electric Mistress dead-heated with Mediate More.

The Hunscote Stud-owned Angel Of The Glen, a daughter of Gleneagles who cost €170,000 as a yearling, was particularly impressive, with Burke saying: "She's a nice filly who has only come to herself in the last couple of weeks and there would be plenty of improvement in her. She's smart and could be up to having a go at black type in time."
