It was a poignant afternoon as racing remembered one of its own on the annual Tom Halliday memorial day.

It was 11 years to the day that the conditional jockey died at the age of 20 after a fall in a hurdle race on this card.

A memorial event for claimers has been staged here ever since, with Dougie Costello and Sam Twiston-Davies among those to have landed the prize.
